Volunteer Experience
Julie Schwartz was appointed to the Rent Stabilization Task Force by Saint Paul Mayor Melvin Carter. She was the only neutral one on the panel understanding the issues on both the landlord and tenant sides. Julie Schwartz’ other past community involvement includes helping create and being the founding member of our local Quad Community Chamber of Commerce, when the business community was under-represented by city council; creating and founding member (and current Co-Chair) of the Volunteers in Public Safety, a non-profit when our public safety department was underfunded and desperately needed resources. Other involvement includes the longest standing member of the Economic Development Authority (almost 30 years including past Chair many times); the Community Emergency Response Team (founding member and past Chair); the Board of Realtors Professional Standards & Ethics Committee and Government Affairs Committee; and Girl Scout leader and District Delegate during a critical merger of two councils and made the motion to merge.
Alex Schwartz has been a member on the Environmental Board of Lino Lakes since 2015. Additionally, since 2023 he serves on the Lake Utilization Committee of the White Bear Lake Conservation District. Finally, he also volunteers as a founding member of the Community Emergency Response Team in Lino Lakes.
